So cold here in New Zealand over the last few days so I have been weaving some … or should I say a lot of scarves great for using up wool. This loom is a basic one that only does the scarf width. I was surprised how they came out and realized the big influence of the waft thread colour on the overall effect.
Blue and green was my colour choice because I couldn’t find anything suitable in yellow my favourite colour. It’s amazing how inspirational these colours are and they really lift my mood. The ideas seem to flow and I never seem to be without ideas.
My daughter Mandy is expecting number two at the end of July. My eldest daughter Sally and I put together a baby shower. We were impressed with ourselves hahaha it came together ! Sally creatively made a baby in a bee outfit for the cake topping which came out even better than expected. Sally’s husband Steve made the cake and also made some fudge which we added to the bee hive boxes. Along with the embroidered serviette holders that are an embroidery design for lipgloss holders that I altered slightly sewing them on felt Lots of daisies pulled it all together.
Found this pattern in a Knit Simple book it was a bit fiddly to make but think it came out beautifully http://www.knitsimplemag.com/Back-Issues/holiday-2015 you can order a back copy here.
Husband made these many years ago they are metal pipe that he bent to make this entrance hall table. He also made the round table which we added a glass top. Recently he had them powder coated Yellow, my favourite colour.
